Medeama SC has secured the services of Sudanese international goalkeeper Monged El Neel in preparation for the upcoming season.

Medeama SC, a club in the Ghana Premier League, has finalized the acquisition of Sudanese international goalkeeper Monged El Neel Abuzaid Salman on a free transfer as they gear up for the 2026/27 season. The seasoned goalkeeper joins the team in Tarkwa after departing from South Sudanese club El Merriekh Bentiu, where he played during the 2025/26 season after signing in July 2025. El Neel adds considerable experience to Medeama's lineup, having previously played for Sudanese teams Hilal Al Sahil and the renowned Al Merrikh SC from 2017 to 2023. At 30 years old, he has built a solid reputation in African football, making 18 appearances in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup throughout his career. His vast experience in continental tournaments is anticipated to be a crucial advantage for the Mauve and Yellow as they prepare for the new season. On the international stage, El Neel has been a reliable figure for Sudan in recent years. He served as the country's primary goalkeeper during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, participating in all three group-stage matches as Sudan advanced to the Round of 16. He also played a vital role in Sudan's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, appearing three times for the Falcons of Jediane. Since his international debut against Senegal in 2018, El Neel has accumulated 10 senior caps, establishing himself as one of Sudan’s most seasoned goalkeepers. His signing marks another significant move for Medeama as the former Ghana Premier League champions continue to bolster their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season. The Tarkwa-based club will be counting on El Neel's leadership, international experience, and familiarity with CAF competitions to provide stability in goal as they aim for success in both the domestic league and other tournaments this season.
