Moroccan Tennis Shines at African Championship
Morocco achieved a remarkable feat during the African Tennis Championship for players under 14, held from September 7 to 12 at the Royal Tennis Club of Mohammedia (RTCMO), securing three titles out of four, encompassing both male and female categories.
A statement from the Moroccan Royal Tennis Federation indicated that Souleymane Jamji was crowned the African champion in the boys' singles under 14. The competition saw a clear Moroccan dominance in the semifinals, with three Moroccan players advancing out of four: Souleymane Jamji, Reda Dahimi, and Adam Samihi.
The statement added that Morocco also claimed the title in the girls' singles, with two Moroccan players reaching the final in an all-Moroccan showdown between Dina Jawad and Yaqout El Ghafouli, where Dina Jawad won the title, becoming the African champion for the under 14 category, while Yaqout El Ghafouli finished as the runner-up.
The third title was secured in the boys' doubles, where Souleymane Jamji and Adam Samihi were crowned African champions.
In the girls' doubles, Dina Jawad and Yaqout El Ghafouli also reached the final, finishing the competition in the runner-up position, reflecting the excellent performance of the Moroccan delegation.
By winning three titles out of four, with two Moroccan players reaching an all-Moroccan final in the girls' singles, and three Moroccan players in the boys' singles semifinals, Morocco concluded the African Championship for players under 14 with very positive results.
The Moroccan delegation was led by Hicham Tazi, Nouzha Saber, Anas Fattar, and Rashid Limina, who accompanied the players throughout all stages of the championship.
