Safaa Suleiman, a member of the Egyptian judo team, secured her spot in the bronze medal match at the ongoing Grand Slam tournament in Hungary after defeating a competitor from New Zealand in the +78 kg category, allowing her to continue her journey toward the podium.
Prior to that, Safaa Suleiman advanced to the quarter-finals in the same weight class after overcoming a competitor from Portugal, extending her winning streak and securing her place in the race for the bronze medal.
Omar Ramli advances to the Round of 16 at the Grand Slam
In the men's competition, Omar Ramli qualified for the Round of 16 in the -100 kg category after winning against Frenchman Francis Dimié by ippon.
Abdallah Fahmy also reached the Round of 16 in the -90 kg category after defeating Hungarian world champion Peter Szavari.
