Khaled Fathy, the president of the Egyptian Handball Federation, confirmed that the victory of the U-17 national team, born in 2006, in the Africa Cup of Nations was a well-deserved achievement, following the outstanding performance the team displayed throughout the tournament, culminating in a win against Tunisia in the final match and securing the continental title.
Fathy expressed his great joy at this new achievement, emphasizing that the team showcased excellent technical and physical levels during the tournament, proving their champion spirit and ability to face tough challenges, praising the fighting spirit the players exhibited until the final moments of the match.

He added that the achievements of Egyptian teams in all age categories reflect the strength of the foundation that Egyptian handball possesses, and the federation's commitment to preparing successive generations capable of continuing the winning streak and maintaining Egypt's position at the forefront of the continent.
Fathy pointed out that the U-17 team includes a group of outstanding players with significant technical and physical abilities, confirming that several of them form a real nucleus for the senior national team in the coming years, ensuring a flow of talent and maintaining the strength of the national teams.
The federation president also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the coaching staff of the U-17 team, led by Tarek Mehrous, praising the significant efforts made by the staff in recent times, and the technical expertise that Mehrous and his team possess, which played a prominent role in preparing the players and guiding them to the podium.
