Dr. Hossam El-Din Mostafa, head of the Paralympic Committee, visited the Egypt national wheelchair handball team during their final training session at Hassan Mostafa Hall, ahead of the team's departure to Spain for the World Championship scheduled for this coming Monday.
Dr. Khaled Samir, a member of the Paralympic Committee's Board and head of Egypt's delegation for the global championship, accompanied Hossam El-Din Mostafa on the visit. The duo aimed to support the players just hours before the team's journey to Spain, emphasizing the importance of delivering an outstanding and honorable performance that reflects the significant development of wheelchair handball in Egypt.
Ensuring the team's readiness
The two officials confirmed the players and coaching staff's readiness before entering the global competitions, preparing for the anticipated match against some of the world's top teams.
Paralympic Committee representatives motivated the players during training and boosted their morale, stressing the importance of presenting themselves in a manner befitting Egypt and Egyptian Paralympic sports.
The head of the Paralympic Committee monitored the training session and ensured that all arrangements and preparations for the delegation were in place before travel, affirming the committee's full support for the team and providing the right environment for the players and coaching staff to focus on the competitions and achieve their goals.
The team will conclude its preparations in Cairo before heading to Spain, aiming for a strong showing and outstanding results at the World Championship, raising Egypt's name high on the international stage.
The fourth World Championship for wheelchair handball is set to take place in Spain from September 16 to 20.
It is worth noting that our national team is the defending champion from the last edition of the tournament, which was held in September 2024 at Dr. Hassan Mostafa Hall in 6th of October City, after defeating the American team 2-0.
