A source at Al Ahly has clarified the recent rumors regarding negotiations with Hossam Abdel-Meguid, the former defender of Zamalek and Ludogorets in Bulgaria. This comes after several reports linked Al Ahly with the former Zamalek defender following injuries to several players in the red team's defense, most notably Amr El-Gazzar, who recently suffered a torn ACL.
Hossam Abdel-Meguid Not in Al Ahly's Plans
The source stated that Hossam Abdel-Meguid is not on Al Ahly's radar at all, and there is no consideration for signing him. They noted that some individuals had mentioned Abdel-Meguid's name earlier, but no negotiations were initiated.
The source added that the club is looking to sign new defenders due to the unfortunate injuries plaguing the team's backline, but Hossam Abdel-Meguid is not among the players being considered to don the red jersey in January.
Hossam Abdel-Meguid transferred from Zamalek to Ludogorets on a permanent deal for approximately €1.5 million, with a contract that runs until the summer of 2029.
