Today, Monday, the draw for the African Men's Volleyball Championship will take place, set to begin tomorrow, Tuesday, in Tunisia, after being relocated from Congo due to the Ebola virus outbreak. This will occur during the technical meeting for the tournament, which will include the Egyptian national team.
The Egyptian men's volleyball team arrived in Tunisia yesterday, Sunday, in preparation for the competition.
Egypt's Men's Volleyball Team Roster
The roster includes: Reda Heikal, Mohamed Adel, Yassin Mohamed, Mostafa Gaber, Ahmed Azab, Hamada Othman, Ahmed Youssef Saad, Shehab El-Din Tarek, Abdel Rahman El-Hosseini, Ahmed Said, Ahmed Diaa, Mohamed Asran, Mohamed Reda, and Hazem Mohamed Abdel Hadi.
The tournament will feature teams from Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Chad, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, and Tunisia, the host country.
Tunisia has previously hosted the African Nations Championship in volleyball six times (in 1967, 1976, 1987, 1995, 2013, and 2019), winning the title on home soil four times and finishing as runners-up twice. The upcoming 2026 edition will mark its seventh hosting in the history of its continental participation.
