The recent sports achievements of Egypt are a result of significant development efforts and attention from the state, focusing on all areas, especially sports, through the enhancement of infrastructure. A total of 4,335 football pitches have been updated, along with the establishment and development of sports and youth cities, stadiums, sports halls, swimming pools, and centers for innovation and learning for the youth. Additionally, several clubs and sports medicine centers have been established and updated, along with the development of a training center for national teams in Maadi.
Egypt International Olympic City: A Global Sports Landmark
The Egyptian state has not stopped there; it has also established the Egypt International Olympic City in the New Administrative Capital, which is considered one of the most prominent sports projects in Egypt in recent years. This integrated sports city represents the capacity to accommodate various sports and major championships, enhancing Egypt's ability to host international sporting events.
A Decent Life: Sports Reach All Governorates
The development efforts have extended to youth centers across the republic through the presidential initiative "A Decent Life," where the first phase witnessed the comprehensive establishment and development of 1,028 youth centers, while the second phase included the creation of 266 new youth centers, in addition to the comprehensive development of 760 centers, contributing to providing a suitable sports environment for youth in various governorates.
From Youth Centers to Podiums
Thus, Egyptian sports today are in a completely different position than they were a decade ago. The focus is no longer solely on winning medals or championships, but on building a comprehensive sports system that begins with youth centers, progresses through talent discovery and nurturing, and reaches the global podiums.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports continues to implement the Egyptian state's vision for 2030, which aims to increase the number of youth centers to 5,100, implement 3,500 annual programs, and raise the percentage of sports participation to 35% of citizens, confirming that the achievements of recent years represent a step within a larger project to build a new generation of champions and enhance Egypt's position as a regional and international sports power.
