Former Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor has endorsed Jude Bellingham as the ideal candidate to succeed Harry Kane as England's captain, rejecting Declan Rice as the logical choice.
During a discussion on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor referred to Bellingham’s leadership qualities as a “no-brainer” and likened his impact on the field to that of Zinedine Zidane.

He firmly articulated his views on the future of the England captaincy, even though manager Thomas Tuchel recently appointed Declan Rice as the vice-captain of the squad.
In Agbonlahor’s opinion, the Real Madrid midfielder has been pivotal for the Three Lions, even asserting that Bellingham’s capacity to lead the team through challenging games makes him the only clear candidate to take the captaincy from Kane.
“He’s the next England captain. Let’s not get it twisted, people talk about Declan Rice, no it’s not – Jude Bellingham is the next England captain after Harry Kane. No-brainer. Say no more,” Agbonlahor stated.

“He reminds me of Zidane, the way he plays and stuff. He’s dragging this team through at the moment. I think he’s world class, I really do.
“And also, you listen to him off the pitch, he’s got a real calmness about him as well. And I think he’s the next England captain after Harry Kane. I think he’s been excellent and really dragging this team through.”
