Arsenal icon Emmanuel Petit has forecasted that France will emerge victorious over Morocco in tonight’s quarter-final of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026.
Remember that Les Bleus narrowly defeated Paraguay in the round of 16 to reach this point, while Morocco convincingly beat Canada 3-0 as well. This sets the stage for an intriguing rematch of the 2022 World Cup semi-final, with Morocco aiming to create a significant upset on the world stage.

In an interview with BOYLE Sports, Petit recognized that although Morocco will present a formidable challenge and possesses dangerous, speedy counter-attacking players, he anticipates that Didier Deschamps’ team will leverage their superior talent to overcome the Atlas Lions.
“It will be a tough match for France. Morocco will defend compactly, but they have quality on the break with quick, skillful players. We need to be cautious.
“France has sufficient quality to prevail. I foresee a battle on the field, especially with Achraf Hakimi up against Barcola or Doué, as they are familiar with each other from PSG.

“France has everything required to clinch the World Cup. The match against Paraguay was akin to England facing Mexico or Argentina playing Egypt, with qualification being quite challenging. Mentally and in terms of confidence, it’s a significant advantage for the entire team.”
