Norway forward Erling Haaland has stated that the weight of expectation falls entirely on England prior to their FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final match in Miami.
The Norwegian forward referred to Thomas Tuchel’s team as one of the leading contenders for the championship.

Leading up to the eagerly awaited encounter in Miami, both Haaland and Harry Kane are in pursuit of the Golden Boot, with the Norwegian currently at seven goals and the English striker at six.
Despite his outstanding performance, Haaland assessed Norway’s prospects of clinching the trophy as quite slim.
“It’s a special game, yeah, definitely. For me, it’s particularly significant, as I play in England and was born there, plus I’m up against teammates and all that,” Haaland told the press in Miami.
“It’s an entertaining match and it’s going to be enjoyable.
“There are some clear favorites, and England is one of them,” Haaland remarked. “I believe you should place all the pressure on the English players.”
“It’s nice because I have a fondness for the Americans; I find them pretty amusing as well. They’re funny, so I appreciate their character,” he commented on his rising popularity in the USA.
“Honestly, everything about the World Cup so far has been fantastic: from the matches to the venues, everything has been outstanding.
“The training facility where we practice has been impressive, so I’m really pleased and it’s been quite remarkable.”
