World Cup 2026: Asamoah Gyan believes Spain has demonstrated their capability to secure the championship following their victory over France.

Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is convinced that Spain has showcased their potential to clinch the 2026 FIFA World Cup following their remarkable semi-final win against France. The African football icon commended Spain’s performance after their 2-0 success on Tuesday night. Gyan stated that La Roja earned their spot in the final by delivering a well-rounded team effort. In a conversation with SuperSport post-match, Gyan emphasized Spain's capability to surpass a formidable French team that had been viewed as one of the frontrunners for the title. "Quite deserving. They [Spain] executed everything perfectly. They functioned as a cohesive unit, and in my view, they did all the right things. They managed to outshine the French, who were the favorites. Spain has shown that they are equipped to win this tournament," remarked the Black Stars striker. Spain booked their place in Sunday’s final after goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro dashed France's aspirations of another World Cup final appearance. This victory further solidified Spain's impressive run in the tournament and bolstered their quest for a second World Cup title, following their historic win in 2010.
