French national team manager Didier Deschamps has commended Kylian Mbappé for his steadfast confidence after he netted his eighth goal in the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Recall that the Real Madrid forward redeemed himself for a missed penalty in the first half by scoring a spectacular goal against Morocco’s Atlas Lions during the quarter-finals of the event.

Shortly thereafter, Mbappé delivered a stunning assist to Ousmane Dembélé, enabling him to score France’s second goal.
Mbappé was substituted with 13 minutes left on the clock after experiencing some “discomfort” in his ankle, but he is not anticipated to miss the semi-final.
In response to his performance post-match, Deschamps remarked that the team had complete faith in Mbappé, even though he had squandered several opportunities in the first half.
“When it comes to Kylian, there’s never any doubt – he maintains his self-belief, even after missing another chance prior to his goal,” Deschamps noted.
“This marks our third successive semi-final, which is certainly a positive outcome.
