AC Milan's head coach Ruben Amorim has stated that Samuel Chukwueze will stay with the team for the 2026/27 season, putting an end to rumors surrounding the Nigerian winger’s future.
Chukwueze spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Premier League club Fulham, where he netted three goals and provided four assists in 26 matches across all tournaments.
Fulham chose not to finalize the transfer after AC Milan maintained their €24 million price tag for the 27-year-old.
Amorim Endorses Chukwueze To Excel At AC Milan
Despite recent rumors connecting Chukwueze to clubs in Turkey, Amorim has emphasized that the Nigeria international is still part of his strategy for the upcoming season at San Siro.

“Chukwu is staying here with us. We need players who can excel in one-on-one situations, quite literally. Saelemaekers is capable of playing on either wing. Cissé and Comotto will begin preseason with us, but after that, I genuinely have no idea what the future holds,” Amorim was quoted by eventi.news.
“However, it’s irrelevant where the players originate from: if they perform well, absorb the coaching, and possess the right attributes to fill that role, then we will create a spot for them within the squad.
“Before we consider external options, let’s thoroughly evaluate our internal resources. By the end of preseason, we’ll assess the situation, being mindful of the budget. I believe Chukwueze has remarkable attributes that can contribute to our team, and he offers us versatility in different systems.”
The gifted winger made his move to AC Milan from Villarreal in 2023.
