Stoke City is keen on acquiring Nigerian forward Josh Maja following his exit from West Bromwich Albion, reports Completesports.com.
The 27-year-old has become a free agent after failing to reach an agreement on a new deal with the Baggies, marking the conclusion of his time at The Hawthorns.
As per Transferfeed, Stoke City’s manager Mark Robins has long admired the former Sunderland striker and is eager to secure his services at the bet365 Stadium ahead of the upcoming Championship season.

Maja is familiar with Stoke, having spent the latter half of the 2021/22 season on loan from French club Girondins Bordeaux. Nevertheless, he faced challenges during that period, netting just once in 15 Championship matches.
Stoke faces competition for the Nigerian, as Championship rivals Watford and Bristol City are also reportedly monitoring the striker’s circumstances.
The forward, who has one cap for the Super Eagles according to Transfermarkt, is currently assessed at €4.5 million.
Maja transferred to West Bromwich Albion from Bordeaux in the summer of 2023 and subsequently scored 19 goals in 81 appearances across all competitions for the club.
