AIK Welcomes Nigerian Prospect to Train with Senior Squad

AIK, a top-tier Swedish team, has extended an invitation to the talented Nigerian winger Emmanuel Oluwafemi Olawore to join their senior training sessions this week as they evaluate him for a possible transfer.

The 19-year-old Olawore is currently signed with another Swedish club, Umeå FC, where he has made a notable impression since arriving earlier this year.

AIK confirmed the news on their official website, stating:

“AIK Football has invited Umeå FC’s 19-year-old winger Emmanuel Oluwafemi Olawore to train with the men’s team at Karlberg during week 29.”

The promising winger moved to Sweden in February 2026 after successfully passing a trial with Umeå FC, where he signed his first professional contract.

Since joining the club, Olawore has had a strong debut season, netting three goals and contributing one assist in 14 league matches.

This training opportunity with AIK allows the young talent to showcase his abilities to the club’s coaching staff and potentially secure a transfer to one of Sweden’s prominent teams.

AIK's interest in Olawore arises as the Stockholm-based club seeks to bolster their offensive lineup following the exit of fellow Nigerian Zadok Yohanna, who recently completed a record-setting transfer to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion after an impressive start to the season.

The club seems eager to replicate that success by investing in another highly-rated Nigerian talent, with Olawore standing out as a prime candidate to fill the gap left by Yohanna.
