Samuel Chukwueze has been assigned a new position by AC Milan’s new head coach, Ruben Amorim, as reported by Completesports.com.
AC Milan conducted their initial pre-season training session under Amorim at the Milanello training facility on Monday, showcasing several significant tactical adjustments, including Chukwueze being positioned in a role akin to that of Amad Diallo during Amorim's tenure at Manchester United.
The session was open to fans, providing them a first look at Amorim's vision for the team's setup this coming season.
While it was generally anticipated that Amorim would implement his favored 3-4-2-1 formation, one of the primary discussion points from the session was Chukwueze’s positioning on the field.

Instead of playing as one of the attacking midfielders behind the forward, the Nigerian international was utilized on the right flank of a four-man midfield, performing a wing-back function.
This tactical adjustment aligns with Amorim’s previous strategies, having utilized Diallo in a comparable role during his time at Manchester United.
Historically an attacking right winger, Chukwueze is now being evaluated in a more profound and demanding position that necessitates both defensive responsibilities and offensive contributions along the wing.
The 27-year-old spent the last season on loan at Premier League side Fulham, where he netted three goals and delivered four assists in 25 appearances.
