Algerian international player Rayan Ait-Nouri made his first appearance of the season for Manchester City, coming on as a substitute in the team's match against Portuguese side Porto on Tuesday evening, in the first round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Ait-Nouri waited until the 75th minute to return to action in a City shirt, replacing Phil Foden and participating in the last quarter of an hour of the match, which the English side secured with a clean 2-0 victory at the Estádio do Dragão.

After his introduction, the Algerian left-back made an immediate impact, providing an assist to his teammate Erling Haaland in the 90+1 minute, following a brilliant individual effort on the left flank, allowing the Norwegian to secure the win with his second goal of the match.

Ait-Nouri's participation came after missing the early matches of Manchester City this season, both in the Community Shield and in the Premier League rounds, making his appearance against Porto a significant step in his quest to confirm his place in coach Enzo Maresca's plans.

It is noteworthy that the Algerian showed great readiness upon his entry, not only participating but also contributing to the decisive result of the match, sending a clear message of his desire to compete seriously for a starting position within the City lineup.

Ait-Nouri seems determined to change his situation, especially after choosing to stay with Manchester City during the summer transfer window despite interest from several clubs, as he begins his journey in the Champions League to secure a spot in the starting lineup.
