Bechem United's defender Foster Gyamfi has signed with Finnish club IFK Mariehamn.

Ghanaian defender Foster Gyamfi has signed with Finnish top-tier club IFK Mariehamn. The 22-year-old inked a two-year deal to join the Veikkausliiga outfit, moving from Ghana Premier League team Bechem United. Gyamfi brings with him some European experience, having previously played for Esbjerg fB in Denmark and Zbrojovka Brno in the Czech Republic. "I am extremely happy and thankful to have joined IFK Mariehamn. This presents an exciting opportunity for me, and I am eager to embark on this new phase of my career. Based on everything I've seen and heard, it appears to be a wonderful club, and I can't wait to get started," said the adaptable defender. "I am a left-footed defender who enjoys initiating play from the back while also prioritizing defensive responsibilities. I put in a lot of effort for the team, have a passion for defending, and consistently strive to give my all in every practice and match. I am ambitious, dedicated, and eager to continue my development," he added. Gyamfi played a crucial role for Bechem United last season, making 16 appearances in the Premier League for the Hunters during a solid campaign. "The plan was for Foster to arrive in January, but due to various setbacks, the transfer was ultimately finalized during the summer window. Foster is a left-footed center-back who is also adept at playing as a left-back. I believe his arrival will be a significant boost to our defense," remarked the club's sporting director and CEO, Jimmy Wargh.
