The legal saga surrounding the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final continues. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), seized by the Senegalese Football Federation, will hear the appeal against the CAF's decision starting October 8, 2026.
Representatives from the various parties will be heard during this initial hearing. The ruling will come later, with a verdict expected before mid-November.
This procedure follows the dramatic change in position from CAF officials. After initially validating Senegal's victory, the appeals committee later awarded the win to Morocco on forfeit, citing the circumstances under which the final resumed after the interruption.
Senegal then brought the case to CAS to contest this decision. The court will need to clarify the legal implications arising from the events that occurred during this particularly contentious final.
