As Patrick Vieira prepares to officially take charge of Senegal, could a former African champion be considering a return? Bouna Sarr does not seem to rule out the possibility of a new adventure with the Lions of Teranga.
The 34-year-old defender, currently the captain of FC Metz, stated that a national team call-up remains part of his aspirations.
“I think about it, but it’s not something that worries me too much.”
The former Marseille player is confident that he still has the physical qualities needed to contribute to the national team: “I still have the legs to support the national team.”
His last appearance with Senegal was on March 29, 2022, against Egypt. Since returning to Metz last February, Sarr has been working to gradually regain his best form after suffering from several injuries. This start to the season could offer him a new opportunity to stand out.
