German club RB Leipzig is preparing to activate the option to buy Moroccan international Nail Al-Ainawi from Italian side AS Roma, after the player impressed the club's officials with his outstanding performances during his loan period, leading to their desire to keep him permanently.
According to "Sky Sport Germany," the German team's management intends to finalize two key signings in the upcoming period, with a total value of around €50 million, as part of the deal for Al-Ainawi and German player Brian Brobbey, who is on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The same source reported that Leipzig has allocated €25 million to purchase the contract of the 25-year-old Moroccan player, due to the confidence the technical management has gained in his talent after his impressive performances that convinced the coaching staff and sports management of the need to retain him.
Al-Ainawi has become a candidate to continue his journey with the German club, as he has taken advantage of his loan opportunity to showcase his abilities, making him one of the names Leipzig wishes to rely on in its sports project for the coming seasons.
The moves by Leipzig's management come as part of their efforts to strengthen the team's squad and retain the players who have had a positive impact, especially given the difficult start to the Bundesliga season, where the club currently sits in seventh place and aims to improve its position and return to the race for European competition spots.
It is worth noting that Al-Ainawi is under contract with AS Roma until the summer of 2030, while his loan period with RB Leipzig ends at the conclusion of the current football season.
The "Atlas Lion" has played 12 matches with his current team so far across all competitions, where he has managed to provide one assist.
