AFCON 2027 Qualifiers: Burkina Faso's Stallions draw with Benin

The Stallions of Burkina Faso had to settle for a draw (1-1) against Benin this Friday at the Stade du 4-Août during the opening day of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Lassina Traoré had put the Burkinabè on the right track by converting a penalty in the 21st minute. However, the Squirrels managed to dig deep and equalize after the break. Junior Olaitan also converted a penalty in the 68th minute, allowing both teams to end up level.

This result gives the Stallions their first point in Group F. Burkina Faso will now travel to Morocco on Monday, September 28, to face the Central African Republic in the second round.
