After Mahmoud Ashour, Al-Banna is considering resigning from the referees committee.
Mahmoud El-Banna, a member of the referees committee, is considering resigning from his position after receiving an attractive offer from a television channel to analyze refereeing cases.
According to a source close to El-Banna, he has not yet submitted an official resignation to the referees committee, but he is seriously contemplating this step.
Last Thursday, Mahmoud Ashour, another member of the referees committee, officially resigned after receiving a tempting offer to analyze refereeing cases on a television channel.
For his part, Essam Abdel-Fattah, head of the referees committee at the Egyptian Football Association, confirmed that Mahmoud Ashour has a strong desire to work in analysis, highlighting his extensive experience, particularly his significant contributions to the video assistant referee (VAR) system within the committee.
Abdel-Fattah stated in a television interview that Mahmoud Ashour attended the football association's meeting today and was given time to consider his future, noting that he has not yet officially informed the committee of his decision regarding leaving.
He added, "If Ashour decides to leave, I will agree, because the most important thing is that you feel comfortable within the committee," pointing out that referee Mohamed Sobhi has extensive experience and could be a suitable replacement for Ashour if he departs.
The head of the referees committee also discussed Khaled El-Ghandour's entry into the international referees list, emphasizing that this is "not a favor," especially since he is the referee who has officiated the most matches in the league using VAR.
