Algeria Awarded the Honor of Hosting the African University Games

Algeria has been confirmed as the host for the 13th edition of the African University Games, during the events of the 2026 edition held in Cairo, which concluded yesterday, Wednesday.

According to a statement from the Algerian Sports Federation, the upcoming edition will take place in the city of Oran in 2028, making the western capital of Algeria fully prepared to welcome the best university athletes from across the continent.

Algeria received the flag for organizing the 13th edition of the African University Games yesterday, in the presence of the President of the Algerian University Sports Federation, Hajj Ahmed Mohamed, who was accompanied by the head of Algeria's bid committee.

The Egyptian capital hosted the 12th edition of the African University Games from September 8 to 16, with participation from universities and athletes from various African countries, before the organizational flag was handed over to Algeria.
