Algeria U16: Without Abed, Ziani's team suffers a heavy defeat

The national U16 team (U17 B) suffered a defeat against their Tunisian counterparts (4-1) on Thursday, September 24, 2026, during the first of two friendly matches scheduled between the two teams, held at the Tunisian Football Federation's ground.

The Greens, who started the match without Yacine Abed, were the first to score. Daoud Bellagra netted the opening goal in the 13th minute, giving Algeria the lead.

The Tunisian team then managed to turn the game around by scoring four goals, capitalizing on several individual mistakes made by the young Algerian internationals.

The two teams will meet again on Sunday, September 27 2026 for a second friendly match, which will conclude the U17 (B) team's training camp in Tunisia, led by national coach Karim Ziani.

As a reminder, this team is preparing for the UNAF U17 tournament scheduled for November, which serves as a qualifier for the upcoming CAN 2027, while the U17A team under Amine Ghimouz will head to Qatar for the World Cup.
