The Algeria women's national football team, which finished third in the last Africa Cup of Nations this summer, has seen a slight improvement in the FIFA rankings, but it remains marginal in light of their performances.
After dominating the Central African Republic with crushing scores of 8-0 and 7-0 in October during the Olympic qualifying matches and having a memorable run in the Africa Cup of Nations, the Algerian players have not truly benefited from these successes in the rankings.
Ranked 8th in Africa in the last June ranking, they have not advanced in the CAF hierarchy. However, they gained one position in the overall ranking to rise to 73rd in the world in the latest FIFA ranking update published on Tuesday by the international body.
