Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, President of the African University Sports Federation, welcomed the heads of delegations and African missions participating in the 12th African University Games - Cairo 2026, which will take place in the Egyptian capital from September 8 to 16.
The ceremony, held at the student city of Ain Shams University, was attended by members of the board of the African University Sports Federation, several heads of delegations and missions from Africa, and representatives from Egyptian universities. They were honored in recognition of their contributions to this event, which Egypt is hosting for the first time to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the founding of the African University Sports Federation.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi expressed his pride and appreciation for the heads of the participating delegations and missions, noting that this honor serves as a positive memory for them alongside their participation, praising all those present and the record achievements made during the sports competitions.
The event is held under the auspices and organization of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, headed by Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansoua, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, headed by Mr. Jawhar Nabil, the African University Sports Federation (FASU) led by Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, organized by Prism Sports Investment Company, headed by Engineer Ahmed Hegazy, and the Egyptian University Sports Federation under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Kamel Mahdi, President of the Organizing Committee, and Dr. Hisham Ahmed Ali, Director of the Championship.
