France started the final strongly, even leading by 14 points at the beginning of the second quarter. However, the United States gradually turned the tide, largely thanks to Jackie Young, who recorded 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
As often, Breanna Stewart proved decisive in crucial moments. The American finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds, winning her second TISSOT MVP trophy of the World Cup, a first in the history of the competition.
In their first world final, France secured the silver medal, their best result in the tournament's history.
