Budash Discusses Olympic Team Preparations

The Algerian U23 national team continues its initial preparations in Algeria, which will last until September 27, in preparation for the second round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Coach Rafik Saifi has called up 24 players for this stage, with the players gradually arriving on Monday before they held their first recovery session in the gym.

On Tuesday, the team, under Saifi's guidance, underwent an intensive training program that included two sessions. The first was a morning session in the gym, focusing on physical work under the supervision of the fitness coach, while the second began at 5 PM at the Military Sports Gathering and Preparation Center in Ben Aknoun, dedicated to technical and tactical work.

In this context, player Kyle Budash spoke about the preparations in this camp, confirming that the team has a group of many players capable of delivering the required performance ahead of their match against South Africa.

Budash stated in an interview with the Algerian Football Federation website: “We have a strong group, featuring many talented players, and we will be able to measure our level against South Africa, which is considered a very good team.”

The national team will continue its training with a second camp in South Africa, which includes two friendly matches against the “Bafana Bafana” on October 1 and 4 in Durban, as part of the preparations for the second round of the qualifiers scheduled for November, against the winner of the Malawi vs. Eswatini match.
