Algerian international Adil Bourbâa continued his impressive form in the French league, helping Le Mans secure their first victory of the season with a 2-1 win over Lorient on Saturday in the fifth round of Ligue 1.
Bourbâa started the match strongly, scoring his team's first goal in the 4th minute with a left-footed shot, capitalizing on a mistake by Lorient in losing possession. This marked his third consecutive match with a goal.
Le Mans doubled their lead with a goal from Habib Diallo in the 57th minute, before Lorient managed to pull one back in the 79th minute through Ivan Jansen. However, the home side held on to their lead until the final whistle, achieving their first win of the season.
Bourbâa's rise comes after a rapid journey over a short period, as just over a year ago he was playing with Troyes' reserve team in the third division, before moving to Beauvais in the second division, where he caught attention with his standout performances.
He transferred to Le Mans last February and found himself playing his first season in the French top flight just months later. After five rounds of Ligue 1, Bourbâa has recorded 3 goals and 2 assists, continuing to establish himself as one of the most promising Algerian talents in French football.
