The CAF Women's Champions League finally kicked off this Sunday. Two matches took place on this opening day. In their first appearance on the continental stage, Lekié FF managed to hold FUS Rabat to a draw.

The opening match of this sixth edition of the competition ended without any goals. Despite a promising attacking line, FUS Rabat could not overcome Lekié FF. The efforts of both teams were not enough to break through the opposing defensive strategies.

The same scoreline was observed in the second match of the day. Mamelodi Sundowns could not avenge their defeat against FC Masar from their 2024 encounter, where the Egyptian club had triumphed. This year, the Sundowns hoped to start the competition with a victory in pursuit of their third continental title, but will have to settle for a frustrating draw and wait for the next matchday to bounce back.

The group remains wide open after this first day, with no team managing to find the back of the net. The second matchday, scheduled for Wednesday, could prove decisive in the battle for the semifinals. FC Masar will face FUS Rabat in a Maghreb derby, while Lekié FF will take on the two-time African champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.
