The curtain fell this afternoon on the pre-season tournament at the TP Mazembe stadium in Kamalondo. After a final that was controlled from start to finish, the team coached by Rashid Ghaflaoui claimed the trophy by defeating Blessing FC 2-0.
Impressive from the kickoff, Ghaflaoui's men quickly outsmarted the opposing defense with an early goal from Basiala Amongo in the 13th minute. While Blessing FC tried to get back into the match, it was ultimately striker Walter Bwalya who sealed the fate of the game by scoring the second decisive goal two minutes from the end (88').
This resounding victory holds particular significance against an opponent that had shone as a genuine threat in the tournament. Indeed, Blessing FC had created a surprise in the group stage by holding TP Mazembe to a 1-1 draw on the final day, thus denying the host club a place in the final. This performance further strengthens the triumph of Rashid Ghaflaoui and his players as they approach the new season.
