Egypt, represented by the Egyptian National Anti-Doping Organization (EGY-NADO), is hosting the annual meeting of the bodies concerned with anti-doping in the fifth region of the African continent from September 16 to 18.
The fifth region includes the Nile Basin countries, as well as Sierra Leone, Gambia, and Somalia.

The meeting will discuss a range of key topics related to the development of policies, action plans, and national strategies for anti-doping, enhancing testing programs, and exploring ways to support and assist African national organizations in strengthening their capabilities and programs, contributing to achieving clean and sustainable sports in the African continent.
Dr. Hazem Khamis, Chairman of the Egyptian National Anti-Doping Organization, confirmed that Egypt's hosting of the meeting underscores its active role in promoting regional cooperation and supporting anti-doping efforts in Africa, highlighting the importance of exchanging experiences and coordinating efforts among national organizations to elevate the level of anti-doping in the continent.

Imane Gomaa, Executive Director of the Egyptian National Anti-Doping Organization, noted that the Egyptian government places great importance on the issue of anti-doping, affirming its commitment to protecting athletes and promoting the principles of clean sport. She emphasized that Egypt's hosting of this meeting reflects its commitment to enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences among anti-doping organizations in Africa, and supporting national organizations in developing their policies, programs, and strategies, which enhances their ability to implement effective and sustainable anti-doping programs and contributes to protecting athletes and reinforcing the principles of clean sport in Africa.
