Hossam Ghaly, the former star of the Egypt national team and Al Ahly, shared his ideal lineup for the Egyptian team ahead of their match against South Sudan, scheduled for today, Tuesday, in the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
In an interview with journalist Saif Zahir on the program "Malab On," which airs on On Sport Channel, Hossam Ghaly pointed out the formation he believes is best suited to face South Sudan, which includes:
Goalkeeper: Mostafa Shobeir.
Defenders: Mohamed Hani, Hossam Abdel-Meguid, Rami Rabia, Ahmed Fattouh.
Midfielders: Mohannad Lashin, Mahmoud Saber, Imam Ashour.
Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Haitham Hassan, Omar Marmoush.
Ghaly also praised the talent of Ali Mahmoud, an Egyptian national team player, saying: "Ali Mahmoud is a promising player. I love his style of play because he has good vision and moves wonderfully. If he focuses a little, he will show outstanding performances."
Ghaly spoke about Hamza Abdel-Karim, the young forward for the Egyptian national team, stating: "Barcelona are considering Hamza Abdel-Karim as a potential replacement for the new Lewandowski or Haaland. From the training sessions, you can see they are providing him with many crosses and preparing him for the upcoming period to be the team's striker in a different style than Barcelona's usual play."
He added: "Hamza is also developing very quickly, as evidenced by the fact that when he joined the youth team, his physique was not like this. When he moved to Barcelona, they took care of his body and training, and everyone notices the difference."
