Salah downs Besiktas and tops the scoring chart in the Turkish league

The Egyptian star's goal came after he received a low cross from his teammate Frankolino, firing directly from inside the penalty area to give the home side a comfortable lead against one of their main rivals in the league.

Despite Beşiktaş controlling the ball for most of the match, with nearly 65 percent possession, Trabzonspor capitalized on their attacking opportunities, aided by the excellent performance of their goalkeeper André Onana, who saved several dangerous attempts.

Salah Takes the Lead

Salah, who is 34 years old, increased his tally to 8 goals and 3 assists in 8 matches in the Turkish league this season, making him the player with the most goal contributions among the league's top stars.

The Egyptian star leads his closest competitors in the scoring chart—Eldor Shomurodov, Jevt Urban, and Vedat Muriqi—by one goal, with each having 7 goals.

Salah also raised his total to 9 goals in 11 matches across all competitions since joining Trabzonspor.

His goals carry added significance after he netted a hat-trick against Galatasaray before scoring again against Beşiktaş, confirming his ability to deliver in crucial matches.

Trabzonspor Closes in on the Top

With this victory, Trabzonspor achieved their fourth consecutive win under their German coach Thomas Rice, raising their points total to 16 in fourth place.

On the other hand, Beşiktaş remains at 15 points in fifth place, while Galatasaray leads the table with 19 points.

Salah's early brilliance provides a significant boost to Trabzonspor's ambitions to compete for top positions, successfully bringing one of Egypt's and the world's football stars back into the spotlight through the Turkish league.
