Algeria concludes the international window of September-October 2026 with a positive record, despite a setback during the second round of the CAF 2027 qualifiers. The Fennecs secured a victory against Zambia (3-1), a draw against Burundi (2-2), and a friendly win against Niger (2-1). These three matches keep the Algerian national team unbeaten during this period.

In their first match of the qualifiers, Algeria dominated Zambia with a score of 3-1, perfectly launching their campaign in Group I. However, the trip to Burundi proved to be much more challenging. Trailing 2-0 after just twelve minutes, the Fennecs responded through Mohamed El Amine Belloumi, followed by Adil Boulbina, who equalized in the second half. This comeback allowed the team to leave with a point after a difficult start.

The Algerians then wrapped up their schedule with a friendly victory against Niger on October 6. After falling behind in the 12th minute due to a goal from Konan N’Dri, they equalized thanks to Mohamed Elbachir Belloumi in the 53rd minute. Ramy Bensebaïni then scored a penalty in the 72nd minute to secure the win for his team.

In the Group I standings, Algeria sits at the top with four points after two matches, ahead of Zambia and Togo, who each have three points, while Burundi has one.
