Khaled El-Darendly, Vice President of the Egyptian Football Association and head of the national team delegation in South Sudan, expressed his great happiness with the 5-0 victory over South Sudan, confirming that the result reflects the focus and determination shown by all the players and the coaching staff.
El-Darendly said: "We are extremely happy with this victory, the performance, and the spirit displayed by the team. Most importantly, we felt a strong determination from the players and the coaching staff to achieve victory and quickly return to the winning path, especially after the goalless draw against Angola in Cairo."
The head of the delegation continued: "The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association, led by Engineer Hany Abou Rida, contacted us after the match to congratulate the coaching staff and players on the victory, expressing appreciation for their efforts and confirming the need to continue working with the same spirit and focus in the upcoming period."
El-Darendly concluded his statements: "Everyone stands behind the national team, and we all work to bring joy to the people of Egypt. I would like to thank the staff of the Egyptian embassy in South Sudan for all they provided to the team during the trip."
Result of the Egypt vs. South Sudan Match
The Egyptian national team achieved a significant victory over their hosts South Sudan, winning 5-0 in the match held on Tuesday at the Juba National Stadium in the second round of the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027.
Egypt opened the scoring with the first goal in the 35th minute through Mostafa Ziko, then Omar Marmoush added the second goal for the Pharaohs in the 49th minute. Ibrahim Adel scored the third goal in the 76th minute, followed by Marmoush scoring the fourth goal in the 80th minute, before Hamza Abdel Karim netted the fifth goal in the 90+2 minute of the match.
