The competitions committee of the Gulf Football Association conducted the draw after the two teams were tied in the criteria used to determine the winner, allowing Oman to secure a spot in the semifinals in second place behind the Saudi national team.

The Saudi national team finished the group stage at the top, achieving a perfect score of 9 points after defeating Iraq 2-0 on Tuesday evening.

In the other match, the Omani national team triumphed over their Kuwaiti counterparts with a score of 3-1, keeping the battle for the second spot open between Oman and Iraq after they were tied in both goals scored and conceded, as well as in the number of yellow cards.

The organizing committee resorted to a draw to determine the qualifier, with Oman securing the ticket, allowing Skitiwi to continue his journey in the tournament and lead the Gulf team towards the semifinals.

The Saudi national team will face the runner-up of Group B, which includes the UAE and Qatar, while the Omani national team awaits the leader of the same group for the second semifinal match.

The UAE and Qatar teams are tied before their anticipated clash on Wednesday evening, each with 6 points, with the UAE team holding the advantage on goal difference.
