Leganés: Luca Zidane loses his position, his coach finally speaks out.

Until now, Luca Zidane has been the starting goalkeeper for Leganés, but he began the last match against Mallorca on the bench. This decision attracted attention, but Luis Carrión wanted to clarify it, emphasizing his esteem for the Algerian international goalkeeper.
For Luca Zidane, the hierarchy has changed, if only for one match. In the match against Mallorca, the Algerian goalkeeper saw Raúl Fernández take his place in goal, despite being the starter until then. This marked choice by Luis Carrión since his arrival at the Madrid club has naturally raised questions.
Unsurprisingly, the new coach of Leganés was prompted to explain this decision after the match. Without questioning the Fennec's abilities, he specified that he wanted to change his management of the position.
“Both goalkeepers, as well as those from the reserve team, are excellent keepers. I made this decision, but it in no way means that I do not trust Luca; quite the opposite. I consider him one of the best goalkeepers in his category. And so far, he has delivered very good performances, that’s a fact,” said the Spanish coach.
He added: “I wanted to make a change for more tactical reasons, in a way, in the management of the goalkeeper position. And the principle is to always fight for your place. The one who does not play must seek to take the place of his teammate, and the one on the field must give their all to keep it. Hopefully, this will lead to an improvement in Leganés’ performances.”
Raúl Fernández, who had lost his place after being sent off on matchday two, thus had the opportunity to return to goal against Mallorca. And for Luca Zidane, this exclusion does not mean that the door is permanently closed.
The upcoming matches will determine whether this change was just a temporary adjustment or the beginning of a new battle for the starting position at Pepineros.
