Mancini returns to Italy under the banner of victory

Roberto Mancini has returned to lead the Italian national football team after three years away from the Azzurri, emphasizing that his goal is to get the team back to winning ways as quickly as possible.

Mancini took on the role again following Italy's failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, marking the third consecutive absence for Italy from the global finals, which led to Gennaro Gattuso's resignation from his position.

During a press conference at the Coverciano training center, Mancini noted that his philosophy is based on creating a team that imposes its style, plays good football, and gives its best, adding that the starting point must always be the idea of winning.

The Italian coach previously led his country from 2018 to 2023, winning the UEFA Euro in the summer of 2021, but he failed to reach the 2022 World Cup after losing to North Macedonia in the European playoff.

Mancini confirmed that he will pay special attention to young players, explaining that building a strong team for the future requires quickly identifying those who can contribute.

Italy's rebuilding phase begins with a match against Belgium in Rome as part of the UEFA Nations League, followed by games against Turkey and France.
