Maryam Metwally's issue with Zamalek is due to an administrative error, and the Volleyball Federation intervenes to resolve the matter.

The crisis between Zamalek SC and former Egypt national volleyball player Mariam Metwally has reached a critical stage, as the club has filed an official complaint demanding the payment of a penalty clause worth 1 million Egyptian pounds, following the player's refusal to return to the team and her decision to continue her professional career abroad.

Zamalek Approves Mariam Metwally's Transfer

Last season, Zamalek approved Mariam Metwally's transfer to Italy, under an agreement that required the player to forfeit financial dues estimated at around 635,000 Egyptian pounds, with a penalty clause of 1 million Egyptian pounds for the season if she did not return to the club within the next two seasons.

The player recently transferred to Mominakhatun FC in Azerbaijan for one season, continuing her professional journey outside Egypt.

Administrative Error Behind the Crisis

The crisis reveals an administrative error made by one of Zamalek's officials, which involved failing to register the player's contract with the Egyptian Volleyball Federation within the specified deadlines. This has become a pivotal point in the complaint, especially since the club relies on this agreement to demand the penalty amount.

Review of Zamalek's Complaint

The Egyptian Volleyball Federation is currently reviewing Zamalek's complaint and the documents submitted by both parties to determine the validity of the agreement and the possibility of its enforcement, according to the regulations for registration and contracts and foreign transfers, before issuing a final ruling on Zamalek's right to claim the 1 million Egyptian pounds.
