An authoritative leap and an unstoppable header: Abdelnour Soualhia showcased his aerial game against Utrecht. The Algerian defender scored his second goal of the season in the league with Telstar.
Abdelnour Soualhia stood out in the opponent's box this Sunday against Utrecht. Starting in the center of Telstar's defense for this 11th matchday of the Eredivisie, the Algerian scored a superb header in the 25th minute, allowing his team to take a 2-0 lead.
From a corner taken by Arjany Martha towards the near post, Soualhia perfectly anticipated the trajectory. Rising above his direct opponent, he dominated in the air before redirecting the ball with a crossed header. A targeted strike out of the goalkeeper's reach, rewarding the quality of his positioning.
This goal adds to the tally of a player who has been particularly relied upon since the start of the season. Before this match, Soualhia had participated in the first ten matchdays as a starter, not missing a minute, totaling 900 minutes, with one goal and one assist.
He now brings his total to two goals in eleven appearances in the Eredivisie, with still one assist. Loaned from AZ Alkmaar, the 25-year-old defender confirms his place in Telstar's starting eleven and reminds that he can also be dangerous on set pieces.
