Qatar: The mystery surrounds Youcef Atal

The situation of Youcef Atal remains quite captivating. Although he has been officially without a club since the end of his contract with Al-Sadd on June 30, the Algerian right-back has nonetheless resumed training with the Qatari team. Several recent images show him back with the group, just days after participating in a friendly match.

For now, Al-Sadd has not communicated any news regarding a potential signing for the Algerian international. Two scenarios seem possible: either the two parties are in talks for a new contract, or the club is simply allowing Atal to train with the team to regain his fitness while waiting for a new opportunity.

This situation has persisted for several weeks. At the beginning of October, Atal even played again in a friendly match won 6-0 against Al-Shaqab, after about eight months away from the pitch. His contract had already expired, and he had not been registered in the official squad for the upcoming season. His market value has significantly decreased in recent months and is now estimated at €1.5 million.

During the summer transfer window, his name was also frequently mentioned in connection with JS Kabylie. Discussions had taken place between the two parties, but the deal ultimately did not materialize. Atal then opted for a return to Qatar, leaving his future still uncertain.
