Turkish club Fenerbahçe plans to take steps to sign Moroccan international Ibrahim Díaz during the upcoming winter transfer window, as the Real Madrid player is considered a priority to strengthen their attack, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira.

The same source indicated that the Turkish club intends to start discussions regarding Díaz as the end of October approaches, aiming to persuade the player to move to Istanbul, taking advantage of his limited playing time with Real Madrid since the start of the season.

Fenerbahçe hopes to enlist the help of Turkish international Arda Güler, a teammate of Díaz at Real Madrid and a former player of the Turkish club, to convince the Moroccan international to try a new experience in the Turkish league, while Real Madrid has not yet made a final decision regarding the player's potential departure during the winter transfer window.

Fenerbahçe is looking to bolster its attack after Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Oğuz Aydın have not delivered the expected performance, prompting coach İsmail Kartal to call for the addition of a new attacking option, with Díaz emerging as one of the prominent names being considered.

Díaz's departure from Real Madrid remains tied to several factors, including the stance of coach José Mourinho and the offer that the Turkish club may present, while Spanish reports suggest a desire within Real Madrid to extend the player's contract, which expires in June 2027.

Díaz, 27, has a market value of around €35 million according to Transfermarkt, having played over 160 official matches with Real Madrid during his second stint at the club, scoring about 20 goals since returning from AC Milan in the summer of 2023.
