Shawky Gharib, the head coach of the Egyptian Football Association, confirmed that since taking office, he has been keen to provide a suitable environment for all national teams preparing for important commitments. He expressed his gratitude to the board of the football association, led by engineer Hani Abu Rida, for the support provided to the national teams.
Gharib explained in his speech during the football association's event with the national teams that local coaches deserve support and assistance, but this does not contradict the presence of a foreign expert from FIFA to oversee the talent discovery project.
Gharib added that there is an ambitious plan for Egyptian football that represents a vision for developing football in Egypt until 2038, which will be announced soon at a press conference in collaboration between the football association and several relevant ministries and bodies.
Gharib spoke about the development of coaches, noting the existence of specialized departments for coaching licenses and performance analysis, as well as significant attention to coaching licenses, especially the Pro license, in which 26 Egyptian coaches are participating. Engineer Hani Abu Rida has promised to organize 3 courses for the international Pro license for coaches in Egypt.
The board of the Egyptian Football Association, chaired by engineer Hani Abu Rida, will hold a meeting today, Tuesday, to discuss several issues related to the association and the national teams, and to follow up on the work plan for the upcoming phase.
The meeting will address the latest developments related to competitions and national teams, in addition to discussing several administrative topics.
Noticeable Activity for National Teams in September
September is witnessing intense activity for the national teams, whether the senior team or the youth and junior teams, at both official and experimental levels, in a new step towards further successes and achievements that have recently been made unprecedentedly, according to the plan set by the board, led by Hani Abu Rida, since he took office on September 11, 2024.
In addition to two matches for the senior Egypt team against Angola and South Sudan on September 25 and 29 in the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027, the Egypt U20 team, led by Wael Riyad, is competing in the North African qualifiers (UNAF) for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ghana next year. The team will begin its journey by facing the Libyan team on September 24 at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia, followed by matches against Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria on September 30, October 3, and October 6, respectively.
U-2009 Team Prepares for Switzerland Tournament
Meanwhile, the Egypt U17 team, led by Hussein Abdel Latif, is preparing to travel to Switzerland this month to participate in an international tournament featuring many major teams. They will start their journey by facing the South Korean team on September 24, followed by matches against England and Colombia on September 27 and 30 in the group stage. If they qualify, they will continue their journey in the tournament, which also includes Brazil, Spain, Canada, and Ivory Coast in Group B.
U-2010 Team Prepares for African Qualifiers
The Egypt U13 team, led by Abdelsttar Sabri, is also preparing to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers taking place in Tunisia, which qualify for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
