Karim Ziani was preparing for a crucial tournament at the end of September with the U16s, aiming to qualify for the next edition of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for April 2027.

At the same time, the current U17s, under the guidance of Amine Ghimouz, are preparing to participate in their category's World Cup in November in Qatar. So far, preparations have been well organized.

Consequently, from September 26 to October 2, a UNAF U17 tournament was to take place in Tunisia, featuring the host team, Algeria, Egypt, and Libya, with the draw having occurred on September 2.

Morocco, which was designated to host the U17 Africa Cup of Nations in 2027, was not supposed to participate in the tournament. However, it was revealed today that not only the qualifying tournament has been postponed to November (from November 9 to 17), but Morocco will also be present!

It is unclear whether the U17 Africa Cup of Nations has been withdrawn from the federation led by Fouzi Lekjaa, but in any case, Karim Ziani's Greens will now face Morocco at the start of a tournament that will now feature five teams instead of four.

Initially, two teams were to qualify for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations from this UNAF tournament, but it remains to be seen if this rule will be changed.
