Zabiri is a symbol of Moroccan football.

The Spanish newspaper “El Diario Montañés” reported that the impressive performance of Moroccan international Yassir Zabidi with Racing Santander has significantly boosted his fame in Morocco, where he is now considered a “symbol” of Moroccan football.

The newspaper noted that the top scorer of the Cantabrian club, who has netted six goals since the start of the season in La Liga, has become part of an advertising campaign spreading across the kingdom, alongside several players from the Moroccan national team.

It added that Zabidi appears in one of the posters for this campaign wearing red, celebrating by kissing his ring after scoring a goal, under the slogan “A New Year with the Determination for Success.”

“El Diario Montañés” highlighted that the young striker's fame, already known in Morocco, received a new boost thanks to his stunning start to the season in La Liga, along with his recent call-up to represent the national team.

According to the newspaper, this growing interest is also positively reflected on Racing Santander, which has seen a noticeable increase in its social media followers since the announcement of Zabidi's signing, especially among Moroccan fans.
