Julius Ben Emunah: Hearts of Oak must provide the foundation for the Black Stars over the next five years.

Hearts of Oak Managing Director Julius Ben Emunah has expressed his desire to see the club's academy serve as the foundation for the Black Stars over the next five years.

In an interview with Original TV/FM, Emunah emphasized his goal of having more locally developed Hearts of Oak players advance to Ghana's senior national team as part of the club's long-term strategy.

"Within the next five years, the backbone of the Black Stars roster should emerge from the Hearts of Oak academy."

His statements highlight Hearts' commitment to enhancing youth development, upgrading facilities, and cultivating players capable of excelling at the highest levels.

The club is confident that investing in its Hearts Africa Football Academy and sports complex will foster players who can transition to the Black Stars while also boosting their market value before moving abroad.

Nonetheless, Emunah's aspirations are set against the backdrop of persistent issues in Ghanaian football, such as the premature departures of talented players to clubs in Europe and North Africa, as well as the national team's ongoing dependence on foreign-based athletes.
