Keller: Balogun Is Set to Make a Comeback in the Premier League

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Kasey Keller has suggested that USMNT standout Folarin Balogun could make a comeback to the Premier League following his remarkable showing at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Balogun has been widely rumored to be leaving AS Monaco, leading to considerable interest from various clubs across Europe.

Chelsea has expressed significant interest and is said to have reached a verbal agreement with the forward, while Tottenham, Crystal Palace, and Ipswich Town are also monitoring the situation.

In a conversation with Ozoon, Keller remarked that a return to the Premier League would be beneficial for Balogun.

“Would a transfer to Chelsea or Tottenham be advantageous for Folarin Balogun? Look, the Premier League has the capacity to offer you more than any other league. Your career window is quite limited.

“Let’s face it, Balogun is an Arsenal product. He’s a London native. So, a chance to return to the capital, if it suits him, then it’s the right move for him.

“However, you must demonstrate your worth; at those clubs, you still need to deliver results or they’ll look for alternatives. I relished the challenge of joining a new team, winning over teammates and fans, and being the first American to play in Spain’s top division while captaining a side in the Bundesliga.

“But I wouldn’t have a different view if he said, I was with Arsenal, but now I’m at a new club where I’m contributing goals, in a wonderful part of the world, I’m valued, I’m in demand. Is a little extra cash really more significant than being in a favorable situation in my career?”
